I got a Yamaha C-2 baby grand piano 6 weeks ago. I’ve been playing nonstop! Also doing a lot of recording. I’ve been trying every mic configuration and placement under the sun. This recording is using a M/S pair with a Rode NTK as mid and 414 in figure 8 as side. Then I set up an ORTF with akg c1000’s up in the loft of my apartment facing down. Blended the two, no added reverb….damn that piano sounds deep! Also going through vintech 473 preamp.
